Meet the Doctors
Dr. Brendon Zelna and Dr. Heather Zelna have been providing exceptional care to the St. Petersburg community for over 10 years. Both doctors are extensively trained in forefoot and rearfoot/ankle medicine and surgery, but always start with a conservative approach and treat every patient like family. From an issue with a toenail or wound management to sports injuries and diabetic concerns, they are well-equipped to provide compassionate and effective treatment.
Dr. Heather Zelna received her undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management with minors in Biology and Chemistry from Florida State University, where she was a member of the Tri Beta Biological Honor Society and the Phi Beta Sigma National Honor Society. She then attended Des Moines University’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery where she received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and was a member of Pi Delta, the National Podiatric Honor Society reserved for those students at the top of their class. Dr. Heather then completed her surgical residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital just outside of Detroit, Michigan; she and her husband were the only 2 doctors chosen for the program in their year! She has served on the Medical Executive Committee and Standards and Credentials Committee at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, and was named Top Doctor in 2022.

Wound Care

Both physicians had specialized training in wound care under the Director of the Wound Care Center for all 3 years of their residency. After opening their practice in St. Petersburg, they continued to work at the Wound Healing Center at Palms of Pasadena Hospital for 6 years. Now, they offer the same level care from their office, with shorter patient wait times and better scheduling options!

Dr Heather Zelna is amazing. I went to her for an ingrown toenail. She did a partial removal which was quick and fairly painless. My previous foot doctor told me I would have to have the entire nail removed and that it would never grow back. I wish I had found Dr. Zelna sooner. I could've saved myself a lot of pain. I highly recommend this practice!

Went today for the first time. From the first call to check in to the awesome doctor that actually spent time with me!! Highly recommend!! The front office staff was so helpful and friendly and I can’t say enough about the care from the nurse to the doctor!!
I recently visited Dr. Brendon and came away quite impressed. I've used several podiatrists in the past and Dr. Brendon was far and away the best. I checked on his academic background / clinical experience and he is one of most certainly qualified doctors (of all specialties) I've seen. He's a very bright guy. The office is nicely furnished and in a convenient location in south Pinellas county. His receptionist, "Meg", was most welcoming on the phone and in the office. I was also impressed with the professionalism shown by his nurse "Jess" (I understand there are two of them). All-in-all I can say I've finally found a doctor to take care of my all podiatric needs.
